All pay phones in Denmark are operated by TDC. When TDC decided to let all pay phones accept creditcard as payment, they had to develop a solution that could offer clearing with PBS. PBS is the largest creditcard gateway in Denmark.

The system is a Phyton application. The application offers two interfaces in which payment transactions can be completed. Every transaction consists of an authorisation and a capture. The authorisation verifies that a transaction is possible, while the capture withdraws the actual amount. The system works as a switch between the payphones and the PBS gateway.
